F.R.E.D (Flying Runabout Experimental Design). (Brit. 1963).  A single-seat amateur-built light aircraft first flown in 1963 and designed by Eric Clutton. It was designed as a powered aircraft that could be flown by any experienced glider pilot without further training. A wire-braced parasol monoplane of wooden construction powered by a 500 cc Triumph 5T motor-cycle engine providing a top speed of 65 mph. Length 16’, height 6’. Wing span 22.5’, wing area 110 sq/ft.
